Sailing Background

I learned how to sail 4 years ago when I joined the Mooredale Sailing Club, so Albacore was the first boat that I ever sailed. I knew that this was going to be my kind of sport when I started racing. Crewing with different people on Friday nights and at regattas has taught me a lot. The more I raced, the more I learned. What I love about racing sail boats are the physical and mental challenges that come along with it. What I love about racing Albacores are the people in the fleet. There are many great sailors who are also very willing to share their knowledge with newer less experienced racers.

Goals

My goal for this year is to help spread this knowledge to the fleet. I am planning on organizing the following sessions:

- Introduction to racing
- Intermediate racing
- New Rules seminar
- Strategies and Tactics

Also I would like to organize something that focuses more on crewing. Not sure yet if this will be a separate session or if we can incorporate a larger focus on crewing into one of the above sessions.

Can’t wait till next summer!
